While I was searching for marco Dorigo I came across Computer and Information Science Papers CiteSeer Publications ResearchIndex. It's a scientific literature digital library. It's an awesome search engine that searches through published documents as well as citations. it shows how many citation was used in each document and a link to the document. It's a really academic search; however, I can definitely see the potential of this being an emergence system itself as well as network that connects everyone together. This network can be so strong that it provides everyone the links he/she needs.
From the news feed of SlashDot I found the site Yelp. Personally I think it's just an emergence-system-wanna-be. Asking question to your friends through email through a website? What's the difference between that then ask your friends on MSN or on your email. The website does respond with contact details for the business and a map; however, what makes people believe that all the business they are looking for has an online reference? This is not a very useful network in my opinion. In comparison with the other search engine that utilizes the power of network, the eurekster. You still search like you search on any other search engine; however, by having your friends signed up and join in your network, you are able to see what your friends have searched and what they found useful. Your friend can recommend links to you. I find this search engine useful if you have a closed network for research programs. (Even though the search result is not always so accurate like google.) It's only beta so I think there are lots of areas it can improve.
